Fire Extinguisher Basic Service and Commissioning
Here at Emerald PAT Testing we are please to announce we can now offer another premium service to go with out Portable Appliance Testing (In Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment)
This new service is the Yearly Basic Service and Commissioning of Fire Extinguishers.
Why do we need to Service Fire Extinguishers ?.
Under the The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and BS 5306-3 / 8 / 9 to ensure that the Fire Safety Equipment in your premises is safe to use it must under go a Yearly Basic Service by a Competent Technician in Fire Extinguishers.
What is a Basic Service?.
A Basic Service consists of Carrying out a visual inspection by checking the Fire Extinguisher has not been used or tampered with, checking the pressure gauge reading and checking the gauge its self, removing the discharge hose to check for blockages or corrosion, weighing and cleaning the extinguisher. Ensuring all wall mountings are secure or Mounting boxes are in good condition, and signs are in place and correct, and finally checking how old it is to make sure it does not need an Extended Service (Every 5 Years) (Co2 every 10 years) or need replacing,
We will replace if required the Safety Pin, and Hose Seal, We will Test the Pressure Gauge and Weigh the Extinguisher, We will also fit a new Green Security Seal, so you can tell its been done.
What happens if you Fail or recommend a Fire Extinguisher is replaced?.
We will give you a quote to replace your Fire Extinguishers like for like, including the Commissioning of any new Fire Extinguishers.
We will also quote on any New Signs or Mounting Plates or Mounting Boxes you may require.
What is Fire Extinguisher Commissioning?.
When a new Fire Extinguisher is supplied it basically needs to receive a Basic Service so that subsequent Services have a Starting point to compare to.
Do you send out Service reminders?.
As part of our service we will send out a yearly reminder the month before it is due to do your PAT Testing, and Fire Extinguisher Servicing if we do both, let us take the hassle out of your diary.
